Iceburg Studio
What the game stores, what it doesn’t, and which companies other than us see anything at all.
Fish Escape has no accounts and no servers of ours. Your progress lives on your own device and nowhere else. We never receive it. The only parties who see anything are Unity, if you are shown an ad, and Apple, if you use Game Center or buy something. Both of those are yours to switch off.
Fish Escape is made by Iceburg Studio, an independent developer. “We” and “us” below mean Iceburg Studio; “the game” means the Fish Escape iOS app. You can reach us at iceburgstudio.dev@gmail.com.
The game saves your progress locally, using iOS’s standard app storage. It never leaves your phone, we cannot read it, and it is not backed up to any service of ours. That includes:
Deleting the game deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else to ask us to erase.
Nothing. We run no servers, no analytics, and no crash reporting of our own. We do not know your name, your email, your location, or that you play the game at all. There is no account to create and nothing to sign in to.
Three companies are involved in parts of the game. None of them report back to us about you as an individual.
| Service | When it applies | What it involves |
|---|---|---|
| Unity Ads | When you choose to watch an ad for a reward, and occasionally between runs | Unity may process your device’s advertising identifier, device details such as model, language and connection type, approximate (city-level) location, which ads you were shown and how you interacted with them, and app performance data, in order to serve and measure ads. |
| Apple Game Center | Only if you sign in to Game Center | Your Game Center nickname, best stage and longest run are submitted to Apple’s leaderboards. Handled entirely by Apple. |
| Apple App Store | Only if you buy something, such as removing ads | Apple processes the purchase. We are told that a purchase succeeded and which item it was, never your name, card, or billing details. |
Most ads in Fish Escape are optional: you are offered one in exchange for something, such as a revive or double coins, and declining costs you nothing but the reward. After a few runs the game may also show an ad between runs. Every ad, offered or not, can be skipped after a few seconds. There are no banners and no long ads you have to sit through, and the Remove Ads purchase switches every ad off for good.
Before any ad loads, iOS asks whether the game may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you say no, Unity does not use your advertising identifier for tracking, and you will see non-personalised ads instead. You can change that answer at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on your device.
If you are in a region whose law requires it, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Unity shows its own consent choice inside the ad before ads are personalised.
Unity’s own terms govern what they do with that data: Unity Privacy Policy and Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. Apple’s terms cover Game Center and purchases: Apple Privacy Policy.
Fish Escape is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone. If you believe a child has provided information to a third party through this game, contact us and we will help you take it up with the service concerned.
If you are covered by the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection over personal data held about you. Because we hold none, there is nothing on our side to produce or erase. Direct those requests to Unity or Apple, whichever applies. We will help you work out which if you write to us. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s update notes. This page is the current version.
